Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland will be sidelined for at least four weeks after suffering a fractured thumb in a collision with Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis during Thursday's game.

The injury is a significant setback for the Cavaliers, who have struggled to start the 2023-24 season. They currently sit with a 10-15 record, 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Garland, who is averaging 19.6 points and 7.9 assists per game this season, is the team's second-leading scorer behind Donovan Mitchell.

The Cavaliers have also been without center Jarrett Allen, who is out with an ankle injury. His absence has further weakened the team's defense, which is currently ranked 29th in the league.
